Job Title: Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)

Location: School-Based Setting (Cary, NC 27518)
Schedule: Full-time and Part-time Opportunities Available
Employment Type: Contract
Pay Rate: Starting at $55/hour (dependent on experience)

Position Overview

Birch Agency is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide high-quality speech and language services within a school-based setting. This opportunity offers the chance to make a meaningful impact by supporting students with communication disorders and helping them achieve academic, social, and functional success.

The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for collaborating with students, families, and educational teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive speech-language evaluations and assessments.

  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans aligned with student needs and IEP goals.

  • Provide direct therapy services to students with speech, language, voice, fluency, and social communication disorders.

  • Participate in eligibility, IEP, and multidisciplinary team meetings.

  • Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation and compliance records.

  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, parents, and related service providers to support student success.

  • Select, administer, and interpret appropriate assessment tools and treatment activities.

  • Provide recommendations for accommodations, modifications, and intervention strategies.

  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and district regulations regarding special education and related services.

Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.

  • Active state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist required.

  • ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred.

  • School-based experience preferred but not required.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of the theories, principles, and methods of speech-language pathology.

  • Strong understanding of assessment, treatment planning, and evidence-based intervention practices.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.

  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills.

Desired Skills

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Experience utilizing Google Workspace applications.

  • Ability to independently resolve problems and make sound clinical decisions.

  • Ability to organize and analyze information from multiple sources.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with students, families, school personnel, and community partners.

  • Excellent time management and documentation skills.
