Overview
Speech-language pathologists-CFY (Clinical Fellowship Year-also known as Speech Language Pathology-Interns) prevent, assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, social communication, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders. The SPL-CFY performs these services under both direct and in-direct supervision of an employed or contracted Speech Language Pathologist. After completion of Clinical Fellowship Year requirements (minimum of 36 weeks and 1260 clinical hours) and obtaining of Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA), this employee would transition to a Speech Language Pathologist position.

Qualifications
MINIMUM EDUCATION:Master''s degree in speech language pathology from an accredited graduate program.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE:Active and unrestricted license to practice as a Speech Language Pathologist-Intern in the State of Texas.
REQUIRED COURSES/COMPLETIONS (e.g., CPR):
Current Health Care Provider Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification through American Heart Association or American Red Cross. Will be required to maintain a current CPR certification during employment. Current Basic Life Support Certification for Healthcare Providers through American Heart Association.
