Position: K-5 SPEECH & LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST

Location: Donges Bay and Oriole Lane Elementary Schools

Starting Date: August 24, 2026

The Mequon-Thiensville School District is looking for a K-5 Speech & Language Pathologist starting for the 2026-2027 school year. This position will be a full time (1.0) regular contract. Applicants must be certified by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction K-12 Speech and Language Pathology licensing.

Position Description Information:

  • To provide instruction to students identified as handicapped in the speech/language area
  • To provide IEPs and on-going programs for these individual students
  • To evaluate new referrals for the program
  • To represent speech/language issues in IEP evaluation team meetings
  • To assist students overcome speech/language handicaps
  • To work with individual administrators to maximize student-teacher time
  • To develop curriculum that will carry out the IEP as written
  • To be able to manage and conduct IEP review team and IEP evaluation team meetings with regard to speech/language problems
  • To be able to properly evaluate students
  • To work with parents and teachers making referrals for possible inclusion in the special education program
  • To work with administrators in scheduling, planning programs, and developing workshops for regular education and special education teachers
  • To work with non-public as well as the public school teachers in following through on student needs with regard to speech/language problems
  • To recognize when students have satisfactorily completed the speech/language program and follow the process by which students can be dismissed from the

program

  • To report to the Director of Pupil Services with regard to program accomplishments and enrollment
  • To work with pediatricians and dentists with regard to student needs in this area
  • To maintain records for individual students
  • To report to parents as well as to the administration with regard to developments
