Position Overview

  • Schedule: Monday-Friday, aligned with school hours
  • Weekly Hours: 40 hours per week
  • Setting: School-based (K-12 population)
  • Caseload: Varies; designed to be manageable and compliant

This role includes a combination of direct therapy, evaluations, IEP participation, and documentation, with a structured schedule that supports sustainable workloads.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assessment & Evaluation:

Conduct speech-language evaluations, re-evaluations, and assessments to determine student needs and eligibility for services.

  • Treatment Planning & Implementation:

Develop and implement individualized therapy plans tailored to each student's communication goals, including support for AAC use when appropriate.

  • IEP Participation & Compliance:

Lead and participate in IEP meetings, ensuring goals, services, and documentation meet all regulatory and district requirements.

  • Direct Therapy Services:

Provide engaging, evidence-based therapy to students with a variety of communication disorders across grade levels.

  • Collaboration & Consultation:

Work closely with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary teams to support student progress and carryover of skills.

  • Documentation & Progress Monitoring:

Maintain accurate and timely records, including session notes, progress reports, and compliance documentation.

Qualifications

  • Active Texas Speech Language Pathologist license (required)
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred (or CF candidates considered, depending on support availability)
  • Previous school-based or pediatric experience preferred
  • Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills
  • Ability to pass background and fingerprint clearance
  • TB clearance (as required)
  • Authorized to work in the United States

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work in a school environment with moderate noise levels
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching throughout the day
  • Occasional lifting of materials or equipment (up to 50 lbs, with or without accommodations)
  • Exposure to typical classroom environmental conditions (dust, pollen, etc.)
