Position Summary:

Under the leadership of the departmental Director and/or Manager, the Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) works as part of the interdisciplinary team to perform evaluations, treatments, and documentation requirements in accordance with professional standards.

Basic Qualifications:

  •  Education:

 Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology.

  • Experience:

Up to one year of work-related experience, or any equivalent combination of education, training,

and experience in a hospital and/or skilled nursing facility setting preferred.

  • Licensure, Registrations & Certifications:

Requires a current state license as a Speech-Language Pathologist.

Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP).

Requires a current certification in Basic Life Support.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  •  Coordinating, consultations and diagnostic evaluations with patients having known or suspected communication disorders and/or oropharyngeal dysphagia; and interpreting assessment data; planning and performing speech-language pathology treatment intervention programs when appropriate that restore function, prevent disability and help patients reach maximum potential.
  • Performs initial and discharge evaluations, sets goals and treatment plan and documents appropriately
  • Develops treatment plan and performs optimal treatment in a timely manner to meet functional goals
  • Communicates with other health care interdisciplinary team members regarding patient progress, problems or plans.
  • Records daily treatment notes and other required documentation timely and completely.
  • Meeting production requirements for physical therapy rendered as defined by the organization.
  • Complies with the Georgia State Practice Act.
  • Assumes responsibility for safety, infection control and performance improvement as part of CRHS’s efforts to provide quality care and services. Performs all associated duties, responsibilities, and tasks.
  • Presents a professional image to CRHS’s co-workers, clinical and medical staff members, patients, families, and visitors.
  • Attends professional development programs and in-service training and meets the minimum requirement for continuing professional education.
