Position Overview
We are seeking a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to join a hospital-based therapy team in Kansas City, MO.
The SLP will evaluate and treat patients with speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing disorders in an acute care setting.
Facility & Work Setting
- Setting: Hospital / Acute Care
- Schedule: Monday–Friday
- Shift: 8-hour days
- Work Environment: Collaborative multidisciplinary team
Key Responsibilities
Evaluation & Assessment
- Assess patients for:
- Speech and language disorders
- Cognitive-communication deficits
- Swallowing/dysphagia issues
Treatment & Therapy
- Develop and implement individualized therapy plans
- Provide:
- Speech and language therapy
- Cognitive therapy
- Dysphagia management
Patient Care & Monitoring
- Monitor progress and adjust care plans
- Set functional and measurable goals
Collaboration
- Work with:
- Physicians
- Nurses
- Rehab team members
- Educate patients and families
Documentation
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation
- Ensure compliance with facility and regulatory standards
Schedule & Work Details
- Monday to Friday (no weekends mentioned)
- Consistent 8-hour shifts
- Balanced inpatient workflow
Requirements
Must Have
Active Missouri SLP License
BLS Certification
Experience in speech therapy (hospital or rehab preferred)
Preferred
Acute care experience
Dysphagia / swallowing experience
Travel experience
