CERTIFICATION: Wis. DPI Licensure in Speech and Language Pathology (#1820)

American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) certification desired

START DATE: August 24, 2026 - November 18, 2026 (approximately)

JOB DESCRIPTION: The Watertown Unified School District is seeking engaging and student centered candidates interested in serving as a long term substitute in either a full time or part time capacity for our Speech and Language position that is available. The schedule will be flexible. If you are interested in collaboration, a 3:1 model of service, and strong mentorship and investment from your district, the WUSD is the district for you!

The WUSD Speech and Language team is a group of highly qualified and collaborative practitioners who are committed to engaging our students and supporting each other.

Qualified candidates should possess:

  • A passion to work with elementary aged students
  • Focus on student centered learning, collaboration, communication, and inclusion
  • Excellent diagnostic and assessment skills in identifying communication disorders
  • Ability to develop speech and language plans, specially designed instruction and supplementary materials
  • The ability to facilitate IEP meetings, screenings, assessments and parent conferences

The Watertown School District has an enrollment of approximately 3,000 students taught in seven buildings. Douglas Elementary School is a recently renovated Early Childhood - 5th Grade building with an enrollment of 412 students.

THE COMMUNITY: The Watertown community has 24,000 residents and is located on the Rock River approximately halfway between Madison and Milwaukee, at the junction of Highways 16, 19, and 26.
