The School District of West Salem is right next door to La Crosse in the beautiful Coulee Region of Western Wisconsin. Our 3 buildings are within walking distance of each other on an approximate 100-acre campus on the edge of town. Students in grades K-12 are issued MacBooks or iPads as part of its 1:1 digital learning environment. The ability to integrate technology in the development of daily lessons that engage students is desired.

The School District of West Salem is seeking applicants for a full-time Speech-Language Pathologist Long Term Substitute, beginning with the 2026-27 school year. Applicants with a passion for helping children overcome a variety of communication barriers to reach their full potential are encouraged to apply. The highly qualified Speech-Language Pathologist will be energetic, creative and innovative. Successful candidates will possess:

  • Excellent oral and written language skills

  • Experience with assessment and diagnosis of educational speech/language impairments using WI eligibility criteria

  • Experience with assistive technology and communication systems

  • Experience with case management and writing College and Career-Ready (CCR) IEPs

  • Flexibility and willingness to work with a wide variety of students, age levels, and ethnic backgrounds

  • Wisconsin DPI Certification #1820 is required
