We have a great per diem opportunity for a Speech Language Pathologist in Utah.

 

Northern Utah Rehabilitation Hospital in South Ogden, Utah provides specialized inpatient rehabilitation for patients in Ogden, Weber County, and surrounding areas of northern Utah.

 

Our hospital is dedicated to guiding individuals through recovery from strokes, brain and spinal cord injuries, orthopedic injuries, and other complex medical conditions that require intensive therapy.

 

We offer a full range of rehabilitative services – including advanced physical therapy, neurological rehabilitation, orthopedic rehab, and more – delivered by a compassionate team of therapists, nurses, and physicians.

 

Our hospital also features disease-specific rehabilitation programs, including Joint Commission Certified programs for Stroke and Parkinson’s Disease, as well as a comprehensive Amputation Program, designed to help patients achieve optimal outcomes through specialized care and training.

What you bring:

  • A passion for patient care, a team player, motivating and collaborating therapist to assist patients to reach the best outcome.
  • Graduate Degree from an accredited program in Speech Language Pathology.
  • Current State Speech Language Pathology License.
  • Current CPR
Qualifications:

Required Skills:

  • Current and valdi state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist required.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence from ASHA or Clinical Fellowship Year status or equivalent preferred.
  • Two years’ experience in rehabilitation hospital setting preferred.
  • Current BLS certification from an approved required.

 

Additional Qualifications/Skills:

  • Demonstrates an understanding of treatment costs and financial support as they relate to quality and efficiency.
  • Demonstrates appropriate application of age specific standards, policies and procedures and guidelines in caring for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients
  • Demonstrates competency in the provision of care according to established standards
  • Knowledge of clinical operations and procedures.
  • Demonstrates general computer skills including: data entry, word processing, email, and record management.
  • Leadership skills in delegating, organizing, and educating coworkers and staff.
  • Effective organizational and time management skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain proper levels of confidentiality.
  • Ability to work closely and professionally with others.
  • Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards.

 

 

Responsibilities:

Assesses, diagnoses, and treats speech, language, cognitive, communication, voice, swallowing, fluency, and other related disorders.  Integrates the hospital’s mission and “Guiding Principles” into daily practice.
