Position Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Per Diem Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our in-house rehabilitation team. The ideal candidate is passionate about providing exceptional patient-centered care and enjoys working collaboratively with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nursing staff, physicians, and families to maximize patient outcomes.
The Speech-Language Pathologist evaluates, develops, and implements individualized treatment plans for patients with communication, cognitive, and swallowing disorders in a skilled nursing and subacute rehabilitation setting.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate residents for speech, language, cognitive-communication, voice, and swallowing disorders.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and physician orders.
- Provide skilled therapy services to improve communication, cognition, and swallowing function.
- Perform bedside swallowing evaluations and recommend appropriate diet modifications and compensatory strategies.
- Educate patients, caregivers, and staff regarding treatment plans and safe swallowing techniques.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation in the electronic medical record.
- Participate in interdisciplinary care planning and team meetings.
- Ensure compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, state, and federal regulations.
- Collaborate with the rehabilitation team to achieve optimal functional outcomes.
- Maintain productivity standards while delivering high-quality patient care.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Current Missouri Speech-Language Pathologist license.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred; Clinical Fellows (CFY) may be considered.
- Current CPR certification (or ability to obtain upon hire).
- Experience in skilled nursing, subacute rehabilitation, or geriatric care preferred.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of dysphagia management and evidence-based treatment techniques.
