Nursing Vault Plus Staffing is looking for a Speech -Language Pathologist (SLP) for our client at Lofland Park Center (a skilled nursing/rehabilitation center) . This is a 13 -week contract assignment. The SLP <\/span><\/span>evaluates, diagnoses, and treats residents with speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing disorders. They develop individualized care plans to improve functional independence, document progress, and collaborate with physicians and families. <\/span>

Key Responsibilities<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/div>
  • Evaluations & Treatment:<\/b> <\/span>Assess residents to identify communication, cognitive, or swallowing deficits and provide skilled therapy.<\/span>
    <\/li>
  • Care Planning:<\/b> <\/span>Develop, implement, and update individualized treatment plans in accordance with physician orders.<\/span>
    <\/li>
  • Dysphagia Management:<\/b> <\/span>Assess and manage swallowing disorders, including diet modification recommendations.<\/span>
    <\/li>
  • Documentation:<\/b> <\/span>Maintain accurate, timely medical records of treatment and progress to ensure compliance with regulations.<\/span>
    <\/li>
  • Collaboration:<\/b> <\/span>Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, including rehabilitation, nursing, and resident care conferences.<\/span>
    <\/li>
  • Education:<\/b> <\/span>Provide training to family members, caregivers, and staff regarding resident care and communication strategies.<\/span> <\/span>

    Requirements<\/h3>
    • Education and Certification:<\/b> <\/span>Master’s degree in Speech -Language Pathology and state license to practice.<\/span>
      <\/li>
    • Certification:<\/b> <\/span>Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC -SLP) is preferred.<\/span>
      <\/li>
    • Geriatric & Clinical Expertise:<\/b> <\/span>Strong skills in assessing and treating swallowing disorders (dysphagia), speech disorders (aphasia, dysarthria), and cognitive -communication impairment.<\/span>
      <\/li>
    • Documentation and Compliance:<\/b> <\/span>Proficiency in Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and adhering to federal/state regulations.<\/span>
      <\/li>
    • Interdisciplinary Collaboration:<\/b> <\/span>Ability to work effectively with doctors, nurses, physical therapists, and occupational therapists.<\/span>
      <\/li>
    • Soft Skills:<\/b> <\/span>High levels of compassion, empathy, and patience when working with elderly patients and their families.<\/span>
      <\/li>
    • Adaptability:<\/b> <\/span>Flexibility to manage changing, busy caseloads in a skilled nursing facility setting.<\/span> <\/span>
