TX-STAR Speech Language Services collaborates with school districts throughout Texas to connect students with specialized communication services. We are currently seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist for a school-based opportunity in the Austin area.
This position is well suited for a clinician who enjoys working as part of an educational team and wants to help students strengthen the communication skills they need for classroom participation and academic progress.
Your Role and Responsibilities
As a school-based Speech-Language Pathologist, you will assess student needs, provide individualized intervention, and partner with educators and special education teams to support positive outcomes.
In this role, you will:
Complete speech and language evaluations to identify communication strengths and areas requiring support
Develop and oversee individualized therapy plans connected to students’ Individualized Education Program goals
Deliver direct services in individual and small-group settings
Address needs involving articulation, receptive and expressive language, fluency, social communication, and related areas
Collect progress data and modify therapy approaches based on student response and performance
Participate in ARD and IEP meetings and provide clinical findings, updates, and recommendations
Coordinate with teachers, families, administrators, and multidisciplinary team members
Maintain accurate service logs, evaluation reports, progress notes, and other required documentation
Manage assigned students, therapy schedules, and compliance responsibilities effectively
Qualifications for This Position
Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology, Communication Sciences and Disorders, or a related field
Current Texas Speech-Language Pathology license or eligibility to obtain licensure
ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence preferred
Clinical Fellows are encouraged to apply, with supervision available
Familiarity with IEP procedures, special education requirements, and school-based service delivery
Ability to organize and prioritize a student caseload while meeting established timelines
Strong communication, collaboration, documentation, and time-management skills
Previous pediatric or school-based experience is preferred
