As a professional working in a K-12 school environment in Minneapolis, MN, your responsibilities will include:
- Performing thorough assessments and screenings of students' speech, language, voice, and fluency capabilities.
- Creating individualized treatment plans (IEPs) aligned with student needs and compliant with state and federal guidelines.
- Delivering direct therapy services to students, either one-on-one or in small groups.
- Collaborating with teachers, staff, and families to implement classroom strategies and accommodations.
- Keeping accurate and timely records of evaluations, services, progress notes, and other necessary documentation.
- Participating in IEP meetings, multidisciplinary team discussions, and parent conferences.
- Offering professional advice for speech and language support services.
- Staying updated on best practices and current research in speech-language pathology and educational service delivery.
- Adhering to district policies, state laws, and IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act) requirements.
Job Details
Position: Contract (option to renew) in a school setting
Hours: Full-time (Monday - Friday)
Caseload: Elementary, Middle, and High School options
Successful Candidates Possess
- A Master’s Degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD)
- An active or pending State Licensure, or the ability to obtain (preferred)
- ASHA CCC (preferred)
- A Department of Education Licensure, if applicable
- Experience in a pediatric or school setting (preferred)
- The ability to work in the U.S. without a sponsor
