An education network in New York City m is seeking a licensed Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to join their team at one of their Manhattan schools. The role provides therapy, evaluation, and collaborative support for school-age students with complex communication, developmental, and neurological needs.
About the Opportunity:
Shift: Day
Schedule: Monday to Friday
Hours: 35.25 hours per week (Mon to Wed = 8:15am to 3:15pm; Thurs = 8:15am to 3:15pm; &, Friday = 8:15am to 2:45pm)
Setting: School-based, onsite
Responsibilities:
- Provide speech-language therapy services to an assigned student caseload
- Conduct evaluations, screenings, and comprehensive assessments
- Develop, implement, and update treatment plans and IEP goals
- Deliver feeding, swallowing, oral motor, and AAC-related interventions as appropriate
- Complete documentation, progress reports, and collaborate with educators, families, and related service providers
Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Current New York State Speech-Language Pathologist license and registration
- Current New York State certification as Teacher of the Speech and Hearing Handicapped (TSHH) or Teacher of Students with Speech and Language Disabilities (TSSLD)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and written communication skills
Desired Skills:
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP)
- Experience with AAC, assistive technology, oral motor assessment and treatment, feeding and swallowing disorders, speech motor disorders, PROMPT, and students with significant disabilities and complex communication needs
- Experience with IEP development and therapeutic goal writing
