Job Description
We are seeking a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) for a per diem/part-time rehabilitation assignment within a correctional healthcare setting. The ideal candidate will have experience evaluating and treating patients with communication and speech-related disorders while working collaboratively within rehabilitative care programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and treat individuals with speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders
- Develop and implement individualized rehabilitative treatment plans
- Participate in interdisciplinary rehabilitation programs and patient care planning
- Recommend and coordinate additional support services as needed
- Conduct special education assessments and present findings when required
- Recommend and train patients on alternative communication systems
- Participate in speech and language research initiatives as applicable
Requirements:
- Valid Speech Language Pathologist degree and active New York State licensure required
- Previous rehabilitation or inpatient experience preferred
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Ability to work independently in a structured healthcare environment
- Background check and fingerprinting required prior to start
