Job Title: Speech Language Pathologist (SLP)
Location: Purcellville, VA
Contract Duration: 8 Weeks
Schedule: Monday – Friday | 7:30 AM – 3:00 PM
Meal Break: 30 Minutes
Guaranteed Hours: 38 Hours per Week


Position Overview

A school-based opportunity is available for a qualified and compassionate Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to support students in Purcellville, VA. The SLP will be responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and treating speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders in an educational setting, with a focus on improving students’ academic participation and social development.


Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive speech, language, and communication evaluations for students
  • Develop and implement individualized therapy plans and treatment goals
  • Provide direct speech and language therapy services in accordance with student needs
  • Monitor and document student progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school staff to support student outcomes
  • Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions
  • Maintain accurate records, progress notes, and required documentation
  • Educate families and school personnel on communication strategies and interventions
  • Support students with articulation, fluency, voice, language, and social communication challenges
  • Ensure adherence to school policies, state regulations, and professional standards

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology (required)
  • Active Speech Language Pathologist license in the State of Virginia (required)
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred
  • Prior school-based or pediatric experience preferred
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary educational team
  • Familiarity with IEP processes and special education services preferred
  • Ability to manage caseloads and maintain accurate clinical documentation
