What Youll Do
As a School SLP, you will support students with communication disorders that impact educational performance, including:
Speech sound disorders
Language delays/disorders
Fluency (stuttering)
Voice concerns
Your responsibilities may include (based on assignment):
Conducting evaluations and writing reports
Providing individual and group therapy services
Collaborating with educators, families, and special education teams
Participating in IEP meetings / ARD meetings
Supporting student progress toward communication goals
Supervising SLPAs (when applicable)
Qualifications (Core Requirements)
Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a CAA-accredited program
Completion of a Clinical Fellowship (CF) (or ability to complete)
Praxis exam passed
ASHA CCC-SLP (preferred; CF candidates encouraged to apply)
Ability to pass school background requirements
State Licensure Requirements (Varies by Location)
Applicants must hold appropriate credentials for the state of assignment
Colorado (CO): DORA (Board of SLP); Requires a state DORA license and a Special Services Provider (SSP) license from the Colorado Dept. of Education (CDE).
