Job Title: Speech-Language Pathologist – Autism Unit

Our client is seeking a dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join their Autism Unit, providing both individual and group therapy services to children and adolescents with developmental delays, autism spectrum disorders (ASD), and related conditions including ADD, ADHD, and sensory processing disorders.
This role focuses on improving communication abilities to foster greater confidence and independence. The SLP will collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans, and will provide training and guidance to support staff to reinforce therapy goals.
Provide speech and language therapy to school-aged children in individual and group settings
Evaluate, diagnose, and treat speech, language, and cognitive-communication disorders
Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans tailored to each child's needs
Educate and guide Mental Health Associates and direct care providers to ensure consistent reinforcement of therapy goals
Document progress, maintain treatment records, and contribute to care team meetings
Communicate regularly with families, therapists, and support staff regarding treatment progress
Education & Training:
Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an ASHA-accredited program
Experience:
Minimum of 1 year of experience working with school-aged children with autism, sensory processing challenges, regulatory difficulties, developmental delays, or learning disabilities
Licensure:
South Carolina SLP license or eligibility to obtain one
Certificate of Clinical Competency (CCC-SLP) preferred
Skills & Competencies:
Strong understanding of Autism Spectrum Disorders and sensory integration
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills
Ability to evaluate and deliver therapy using evidence-based practices
Good judgment, discretion, and confidentiality
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant clinical documentation tools
Work takes place in well-lit, climate-controlled classrooms
Requires frequent standing and walking
Possible exposure to verbal/physical aggression and infectious conditions
Pay: $85,000–$100,000 per year (commensurate with experience)
