Speech Language Pathologist

At Easterseals DuPage & Fox Valley, our mission is to ensure that children with disabilities and their families are empowered. We offer pediatric therapy services as an early intervention provider and at locations in Villa Park, Elgin and Naperville, so every child can thrive in an inclusive community. We serve more than 1,000 infants and children with developmental delays and disabilities each week. This position is available full-time or part-time with options to be in Villa Park or Elgin, IL or a combination of both center locations.

Our team centers on a multidisciplinary and collaborative approach with a focus on physical, occupational, and speech language therapies and mental health services. We also offer assistive technology therapy, medical nutrition services, developmental evaluations, audiology, family support, an inclusive child care center, specialty clinics, and a continuing education program.

\n

\n

The speech-language pathologist is responsible for evaluating, planning, and implementing speech therapy services and in accordance with Center’s policies and procedures. In addition, he/she is expected to participate (voluntarily or upon request) in the manning of existing Center programs and the development of new Center programs.

8. Complies with current ASHA Code of ethics, state licensure laws, and all prevailing Federal, State and local laws regulations.

B. Evaluations

1. \n
2. Screens, consults and/or evaluates patients upon request/referral.
3. \n
4. Performs evaluations/screenings within Center’s formats of 
5. \n
6.    IDE
7. \n
8.    Single discipline
9. \n
10.  Reviews relevant reports to facilitate assessment.
11. \n
12.    Selects appropriate evaluation tools and implements them, as indicated.
13. \n
14. Makes appropriate recommendations from evaluation results.
15. \n
16. Writes evaluations in accordance with Center policy.

C. Administration of Therapy

\n

1. \n
2. Establishes a Treatment Plan from initial evaluation.
3. \n
4. Administers program effectively:

• \n
• Utilizes appropriate treatment procedures and techniques.
• \n
• Adapts treatment to patient's needs and abilities.
• \n
• Identifies resources and integrates information on resources into program planning and implementation.   
• \n

Qualifications:

\n

1. \n
2. Must be licensed or license eligible as defined by ASHA and Illinois Board of Professional Regulation.
3. \n
4. Must have a Master’s degree or a Speech Therapy certificate from a school approved by ASHA.
5. \n
6. New graduates, must make application for State licensure within one month of completion of requirements for ASHA Clinical Competency Certification in Speech-Language Pathology.
7. \n
8. New graduates, must have registered for the ASHA exam within 3 months of hire, and completed within 9 months of hire.
9. \n
10. Must maintain EI certification or eligibility.
11. \n
12. Must maintain current CPR certification.
