Speech Language Pathologist VirtualRemotePosition Title Speech Language PathologistReports To Director of Special EducationDepartment Special EducationLocation VirtualRemoteThis is a primarily virtual position however must be willing and able to report on-site.Primary PurposePlan and provide speech-language pathology services to students with articulation voice fluency andor language disorders. Assess and provide intervention to eliminate or reduce communication disorders that interfere with a students ability to benefit from the educational program.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesProvide services in accordance with TSHA guidelines the ASHA Code of Ethics and Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation TDLR standards.Conduct comprehensive evaluations and write Full Individual Evaluations FIEs in accordance with state and district guidelines using virtual tools when valid and appropriate or coordinating in-person components as needed.Participate in ARD Committee meetings to interpret assessment data determine eligibility set goals and recommend placement.Incorporate evidence-based practices and academic content into therapy sessions.Serve students in the least restrictive environment LRE supporting generalization of skills across settings including virtual service delivery when appropriate.Evaluate student progress and determine readiness for dismissal from services.Collaborate with educators to integrate communication skill-building into classroom activities.Maintain effective communication with staff families and students.Create and maintain an organized distraction-free and confidential therapy environment appropriate for virtual service delivery. Supervise and mentor speech-language pathology assistants graduate students and interns in accordance with TDLR regulations using virtual supervision methods as appropriate.Collect and analyze service data to evaluate therapy effectiveness and recommend changes.Assist in selecting therapy materials and equipment.Maintain accurate documentation including daily notes progress reports evaluations and Medicaid billing using the districts data systems.Track referrals and evaluations across assigned campuses.Submit data and documentation in a timely manner for IEP development and evaluations.Comply with federalstate regulations and local board policies.Follow all district and campus procedures and schedules.Perform other duties as assigned.Documentation & Compliance· Ensure documentation of evaluation timelines consents eligibility criteria and recommendations is thorough and timely.· Maintain accurate records and adhere to local state and federal documentation standards.· Stay current on changes in state eligibility criteria evaluation practices and district policies.· Use eSped or district-approved platforms to manage special education paperwork.Professional Responsibilities· Engage in professional development activities to improve and maintain evaluation skills.· Follow ethical and legal practices in all aspects of educational diagnostics.· Adhere to district procedures for safeguarding confidential information.· Perform other duties as assigned.Supervisory ResponsibilitiesSupervise SLP-Assistants graduate students and interns in accordance with TDLR and ASHA regulations.QualificationsEducationExperienceMasters degree in Speech-Language Pathology Communication Sciences and Disorders or equivalentComputer proficiencyLicensesCertificationsCurrent license as a Speech-Language Pathologist issued by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation TDLRCertificate of Clinical Competence CCC from ASHA if applicableMust obtain a National Provider Identifier NPI number within 30 days of employmentLanguage SkillsAbility to read interpret and write professional documents and reportsAbility to present information clearly to various stakeholdersMathematical SkillsAbility to perform basic mathematical functionsAbility to interpret graphs and statistics related to evaluations and progress monitoringReasoning AbilityAbility to apply logical reasoning to solve problems and adapt to various situationsDemonstrate professional conduct in all educational settingsPhysical and Work Demands· Must be willing and able to report on-siteFrequent speaking and hearingVision abilities include near far and adjusting focusOccasional walking standing sitting stooping kneeling lifting up to 45 lbsNoise level varies from quiet to moderate depending on student needs
