    Summary

    Mount Prospect Elementary School is seeking a dedicated and passionate Speech Language Pathologist for a leave replacement position from September 1, 2026, to December 23, 2026. The successful candidate will work full-time to provide high-quality speech and language services to students, fostering their communication skills and supporting their academic and social development. This role requires collaboration with teachers, parents, and other specialists to create a supportive learning environment for all students.

    Responsibilities

    • Conduct assessments to identify speech and language disorders in students.
    • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's needs.
    • Provide direct therapy services to students with speech and language impairments in both individual and group settings.
    • Monitor and document student progress, adjusting therapy plans as necessary.
    • Collaborate with teachers and staff to integrate speech and language goals into the classroom environment.
    • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress and strategies to support language development at home.
    • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to the development of comprehensive support strategies for students.
    • Maintain accurate and confidential records of assessments, therapy sessions, and student progress.
    • Stay current with best practices and research in the field of speech-language pathology.

    Requirements

    • Valid state licensure or certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
    • Experience working with elementary-aged children in a school setting is highly desirable.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with students, staff, and families.
    • Knowledge of various speech and language disorders and evidence-based intervention strategies.
    • Ability to manage a caseload and prioritize tasks effectively.
    • Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all students.
    • CPR and First Aid certification is a plus.
