TITLE: Speech-Language Pathologist
QUALIFICATIONS:
REPORTS TO: Building Principal/Director of Special Education
JOB GOAL: To provide comprehensive speech and language services that enhance students' communication abilities, enabling them to succeed academically and socially within the school environment.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conducts comprehensive speech and language assessments to identify student needs.
Develops and implements Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) based on assessment findings.
Provides direct speech and language therapy to students using evidence-based practices.
Tracks student progress and adjusts therapy plans as needed to ensure continuous improvement.
Collaborates with teachers, special education staff, and parents to develop strategies that support student communication in the classroom.
Participates in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss student progress and intervention strategies.
Offers resources and guidance to families to support communication skills at home.
Maintains accurate documentation and records in compliance with state and federal regulations.
Ensures adherence to Indiana state guidelines for special education services.
Ensures accurate and timely billing for Medicaid services provided to eligible students.
