Role Overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic, highly qualified Speech-Language Pathologist / Speech Therapist holding a valid California license to provide specialized in-person speech therapy services to 2nd and 3rd-grade students in Oakland, CA.
In this role, you will work directly with young learners to assess, support, and foster their communication and language development. We are looking for a compassionate clinician who takes pride in creating a dynamic, nurturing environment where elementary students feel empowered to overcome speech challenges and achieve academic and personal success.
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct, targeted 1:1 in-person speech therapy services to 2nd and 3rd-grade students.
Develop and implement individualized speech and language goals to support student communication and academic development.
Engage students with interactive, dynamic activities tailored to elementary-age development.
Monitor, track, and document student progress over the course of the assignment.
Communicate effectively with school staff, guardians, and team members regarding student milestones and needs.
Position Details
Duration: Long-term assignment (3–6 months)
Weekly Hours: 2 hours per week total (1-hour sessions, twice weekly)
Format: 100% In-Person at a designated location in Oakland, CA
Qualifications
Active California State License or verified eligibility for licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) / Speech Therapist in the state of California (Required).
Candidates who are currently in the licensure process with strong qualifications are welcome to apply.
Proven experience working with elementary-aged children (specifically 2nd/3rd grade) in an educational or clinical setting.
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
Reliable transportation and ability to commute to the designated site in Oakland, CA.
What We Offer
Competitive pay: $60 – $65/hour (commensurate with experience; negotiable).
