Overview:
As a Speech Therapist, you will deliver specialized assessments and treatment plans to patients with speech, language, cognitive, swallowing, and respiratory challenges. Working within our acute care department, you will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support patients recovering from strokes, neurological conditions, respiratory issues, and other medical or surgical diagnoses. Required Skills:
- Valid Georgia Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) license
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) preferred
- Minimum of 15-18 months recent experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in acute care
- Current BLS certification
- Proficiency in managing diverse cases such as ICU, neuro, dysphagia, respiratory, and cognitive disorders
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience with Modified Barium Swallow (MBS) and Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing (FEES)
- Prior exposure to hospital or acute care environments
- Bilingual abilities
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders
- At least 1 year of recent clinical experience in a healthcare setting, with preference for acute care experience
Other Requirements:
- Able to work scheduled hours from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, including at least 2 weekends per 4-week period (preferably 4 weekends)
- Willingness to travel if required
- Valid state licensure and certifications in good standing
- Positive attitude and strong commitment to patient-centered care
