Speech Therapist (SLP) – Acute Care

Contract Length: 13 Weeks
Schedule: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, varying days
Hours: 40 hours/week (5x8 shifts)
Now accepting both local and travel candidates for this position.
Minimum 15–18 months of recent Speech Therapy experience within the specialty required.
Prior acute care experience strongly preferred.
Modified Barium Swallow Study (MBS) and/or FEES proficiency is a plus but not required.
Current Georgia Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) License
CCC-SLP certification
Current AHA BLS certification
The Speech-Language Pathologist will provide acute care services to hospitalized patients based on physician orders. The role involves evaluating, diagnosing, and treating a wide range of speech, language, swallowing, cognitive, and communication disorders across multiple patient populations.
The SLP will support patients throughout the hospital, including:
Intensive Care Unit (ICU) patients
Stroke and neurological patients
Patients with dysphagia (swallowing disorders)
Patients with respiratory compromise
Patients with cognitive and communication impairments
Medical and surgical patient populations
The ideal candidate is clinically strong, adaptable, and experienced in managing complex acute care cases within a fast-paced hospital environment.
