Job Summary

Per Diem, Days

The Staff Speech Language Pathologist is responsible for providing therapy services, upon referral from an appropriate licensed practitioner, to patients including assessment, treatment program planning, and implementation related documentation and communication. Evaluates and treats patients in order to produce effective outcomes. Communicates and assists in resolving problems. Demonstrates effective resource utilization that is critical to operational stability within the organization. Participates in performance improvement and program growth.

Responsibilities

  • Reports for scheduled shift on time and prepared to assume responsibilities.
  • Attends and participates in meetings and is responsible for all information communicated at meetings.
  • Adheres to Corporate, Regional, hospital and departmental policy and procedure 100% of the time.
  • Assists all patients, family members, physicians, visitors and employees in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Adheres to the following environmental care standards.

Qualifications

EDUCATION:

  • Minimum: Masters Degree in Communication Disorders or Speech Language Pathology

EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience desired, but not required

REQUIRED CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE/REGISTRATION:

  • Eligible for clinical fellowship year to earn ASHA Certification of Clinical Competency in Speech Language Pathology or has earned ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence
  • Florida license or provisional license (CFY) as a Speech Language Pathologist from the Agency of Health Care Administration's Division of Medical Quality Assurance.
  • Current American Heart Association BLS card
