Key Responsibilities

• Assessment and Diagnosis: Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients' communication abilities, including speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing skills.
• Treatment Planning: Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment results and patient needs.
• Therapy Sessions: Provide individual and group therapy sessions using evidence-based techniques to address speech disorders, language skills, and swallowing difficulties.
• Collaboration: Work with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, psychologists, and educators, to ensure cohesive and integrated care for patients.
• Education and Counseling: Educate patients, families, and caregivers about communication disorders and provide guidance on therapy techniques and home exercises.
• Documentation: Maintain detailed records of patient assessments, progress, and treatment plans, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations.

Qualifications

• Education: A master's degree in speech-language pathology or a related field is required.
• Licensure: Must obtain a state license to practice as a speech therapist.
• Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, compassion, and the ability to work with diverse populations are essential. Knowledge of current research and techniques in speech therapy is also important.
