Job Description
Title: Speech Pathologist - Short Term Sub., Junior HIgh School
Starting 9/1/26 through approximately 11/20/26
Description: This is a professional position responsible for assessing, diagnosing, treating and helping to prevent speech, language, cognitive communication, voice swallowing, fluency and other related disorders.
Qualifications:
- Hold valid New York State certification in Speech and Language Disabilities and NYS License as a Speech Language Pathologist
- Knowledge of the current principles and practices of Speech Language Pathology
- Ability to work with a culturally diverse population of students and families
- Ability to create a safe and culturally inviting environment
- Effective communication and problem solving skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in an educational setting with all stakeholders
Responsibilities: Shall include but are not limited to the following:
- Must be able to work across all settings, Pre-Kindergarten to High School serving students with a range of disabilities including those involving language,
- Provide intervention services to support students and reduce academic barriers
- Utilize appropriate evaluation tools to assess students' abilities as they relate to communication
- Gather and interpret data to inform instructional practices
- Complete activities such as Individualized Education Program development, Medicaid billing, report writing and treatment plan/therapy log development
- Engage with students and families from culturally diverse backgrounds
- Work collaboratively with District and Building Level leadership and staff
- Other duties as assigned by the Building Principal, Director of Elementary or Secondary Special Education or district office administration
Reports to: Building Principal, Director of Elementary or Secondary Special Education
Salary: Minimum starting salary $48,502 (prorated) (negotiable based on experience) as per the contract between Victor Central Schools and the Victor Central Teachers' Association
Terms of Employment:
The position of Speech Pathologist is a 10 month role. The terms established in accordance with the contract between the Superintendent of Schools and the Victor Teachers' Association.
