Speech Therapist (SLP) – Acute Care
Location: Canton, Georgia
Contract Duration: 13-Week Contract Assignment

Shift Details

  • Day Shift – 5x8 Hour Shifts
  • Hours: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
  • Schedule may vary based on department needs
  • Minimum 2 weekends required every 4 weeks
  • Preferred availability for 4 weekends every 4 weeks

Position Overview

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking an experienced Speech Therapist (SLP) to join a fast-paced Acute Care hospital setting in Canton, Georgia. The therapist will work with a diverse patient population across multiple units including ICU, neurological/stroke, respiratory, dysphagia, and cognitive care.

This role is ideal for clinicians with strong acute care experience who are passionate about delivering high-quality patient-centered therapy services within a collaborative interdisciplinary environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and treat patients requiring speech therapy services in an acute care setting
  • Assess swallowing, speech, language, cognitive, and communication disorders
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on physician orders and patient needs
  • Provide therapy interventions for ICU, stroke/neuro, dysphagia, respiratory, and cognitive-related conditions
  • Document patient progress and therapy interventions accurately within EMR systems
  • Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
  • Educate patients and families regarding treatment goals and discharge planning
  • Maintain compliance with facility and clinical documentation standards

Requirements

  • Minimum 15–18 months of recent Speech Therapy experience within specialty required
  • Active Georgia Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) License required
  • CCC-SLP Certification required
  • BLS Certification required
  • Prior Acute Care experience strongly preferred
  • MBS/FEES proficiency preferred but not required
