The duties include but are not limited to:
• Conducts speech-language evaluations and determines eligibility in accordance with the Alabama Administrative Code. • Develops and implements IEPs. • Establishes objectives and plans learning experiences that address the specific communication needs of students. • Provides appropriate speech-language intervention to identified students and monitors student progress. • Implements activities using a variety of techniques that utilize instructional time to meet objectives. • Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior to achieve a functional learning atmosphere. • Manages caseload assignment. • Exhibits positive interpersonal skills and is able to work collaboratively. • Evaluates the educational program and/or student progress. • Communicates with parents/guardians, colleagues, and community groups. • Demonstrates proficiency in written and oral communication. • Maintains and submits records and reports. • Adheres to school system rules, administrative procedures, local board policies, and state and federal rules and regulations. • Travels to various schools within the district. • Performs other duties as assigned by principal or the Executive Director of Special Services. • Engages in personal professional growth and demonstrates professional ethics and leadership.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelors or Masters Degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Speech Communication Disorders from a regionally accredited college or university with a minimum GPA of 2.50 on a Bachelors degree and a minimum of 3.0 on a Masters Degree. Applicants with Masters Degrees in Speech-Language Pathology or Speech Communication Disorders are preferred.

Salary Range FromTo As per State Matrix depending on degree and experience. Bachelors beginning pay - $47,600.00

Applicants selected for certified positions must have undergone an ABIFBI criminal history background check fingerprinting administered through sites selected and approved by the MCPSS and State of Alabama Education Department and been declared suitable and fit to teach under state law. Applicants selected must also pass a drug-screening test via forms provided by Human Resources during the selection process.
