Job TitleSpinal Implant Instruments Development EngineerJob DescriptionReporting directly into the CTO, you will be responsible for the following:Drive product development from concept through commercialization, ensuring compliance with FDA and ISO design controls.Design complete spinal instrument systems for procedures, including trials, inserters, distractors, reduction tools, and minimally invasive workflows.Partner with surgeons and key opinion leaders to gather feedback and tailor instruments to surgical needs.Participate in labs and operating room observations to optimize ergonomics, usability, and workflow.Collaborate with implant design teams to ensure seamless integration and system-level performance.Create CAD models incorporating biomechanics and design-for-manufacturing principles.Manage timelines, risks, and cross-functional communication across engineering, quality, regulatory, and manufacturing.Conduct verification and validation activities, including mechanical testing, FEA, and usability assessments.Maintain design documentation such as DHF, specifications, drawings, and risk files.MPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law.
