Competitive wage excellent benefits Supportive work environment Modern Healthcares Best Places to Work since 2012 Details: Full-time, 40 hours per week Mostly weekdays, office hours Intermittent weekend call required JOB SUMMARY: The Spiritual Care/Bereavement Coordinator as a member of the interdisciplinary group (IDG), provides spiritual support and counseling to patients and families in keeping with the patients/familys desire and belief system. Serves as a liaison between patient/family and their clergy. Provides information and support to the hospice team relative to the patient/family spiritual needs. Instructs staff on how to best support those needs, if necessary. Interacts with community spiritual leaders/clergy of different beliefs and backgrounds. Supervises the hospice bereavement program. Works with other team members. QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelors degree in theology, counseling or related field required. Two years of experience dealing with patients undergoing significant stress, the dying process, or grief preferred. Previous hospice experience preferred. Graduation from an accredited seminary or other training program, ecclesiastical endorsement, and/or ordination, preferred. Clinical Pastoral Education units or certification highly desirable. Having and maintaining a valid Oklahoma Drivers License and satisfactory driving record is a condition of employment. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Able to speak clearly and distinctly with staff, physicians, patients, and patients families. Must have adequate perception of sounds or adequate hearing with corrections. Demonstrates adequate stamina to deal with stressful situations and to complete the necessary work schedule. Able to extensively utilize telephone for communication. Demonstrates adequate vision, or correctable with glasses/contacts, for reading and preparing written reports. Able to sit/stand/walk for extended periods of time throughout the work schedule, with some light lifting and bending.
