Florida State University is seeking a dynamic, innovative and student development-centered individuals for the position of Sport Facilities Coordinator.

The successful candidate will provide shared leadership for a comprehensive university-wide program designed for more than 50,000 students, faculty, and staff, and will assist with cultivating and delivering the departmental brand to the entire community. They will also cultivate an environment that engages in evidence-based decision-making, foster a sense of belonging, and promote student development and learning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinates, manages, and supervises the day-to-day operations of the Rec SportsPlex, Main Campus Fields, Westside Courts, Tully Gym, Speicher Tennis Center, and Bill Harkins Field. Responsible for oversight of customer service, facility upkeep, and quality control. Coordinates the scheduling and supervision of Campus Recreation programs, facility rentals and special events including on-site leadership and support during select events that may occur on nights and weekends outside the standard business day. Consults with and responds to daily inquiries from students, student organizations, faculty, staff, alumni, program colleagues, support services, and non-university personnel and organizations.
  • Collaborates with related departmental staff on equipment purchases, repair, maintenance, and field & court needs. Assists with equipment installation and repair. Responsible for inventory control, purchasing, invoicing, ordering and receiving of equipment and supplies. Assists with the coordination of capital improvement projects and the management of inventory within each facility.
  • Coordinates the recruitment, selection, hiring, training, and evaluation of the Competitive Sports Facility Student Supervisors, and Field Crew staff. Provides leadership in the development of all student staff assigned to the competitive sports facilities.
  • Oversees all data collection, assessment and reporting for facility usage on a weekly, monthly, semester and annual basis. Assists with the development and administration of the annual facility operation budget. Assists in the development of operational and risk management policies and procedures. Ensures policies are reviewed annually, implemented, and enforced. Monitors and collects data for accident and incident reports within the facilities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Sports Management, Physical Education, Recreation/Leisure Administration or related field and two years of experience; or a high school diploma or equivalent and six years of experience. (Note: a combination of post high school education and experience equal to six years.)
  • Certified in Red Cross CPR and First Aid or ability to become certified within the first 6 months of hire.
