We are growing rapidly and looking for high performers at every level to grow with us.POSITION SUMMARY:Sports Coach will lead the facility's youth (and some adult) sports offerings, including, but not limited to: Leagues, Developmental Classes (ages 3-8), After-School/Home School programs, Clinics, Camps, Private/Semi-Private Trainings, Sports Performance Sessions, and Birthday Parties. The Sports Coach at PSM Ice House is responsible for coaching and developing athletes in various ice sports, such as hockey, figure skating, or speed skating. This role involves designing and implementing training programs, providing instruction and feedback, and fostering a positive and competitive environment for athletes.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:Teaching relevant skills, tactics, and techniques to a wide range of athletes, individuals and groupDevelop and implement training programs tailored to the skill levels and goals of athletesConduct on-ice and off-ice training sessions, focusing on technical skills, tactics, and physical conditioningTeach fundamental and advanced techniques in the specific ice sportMonitoring, evaluating, and enhancing athlete performance and needProviding suitable feedback via positivity, encouragement, example, and motivationDemonstrating an activity clearly by breaking down the task or technique into a sequencePromote discipline, respect, and sportsmanship in all team activitiesFriendly and courteous with athletes, parents, and team membersIdentifying athlete strengths and areas for developmentEnsuring a safe environment for all athletesStay updated with the latest coaching techniques, sports science, and industry best practicesAll additional duties assigned by managementMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Coaching licenses (or active pursuit of) preferredProven experience as a coach or in a related role, with a strong background in the specific ice sport (hockey, figure skating, speed skating, etc.)Ability to demonstrate and participate in on-ice activitiesAt least 2 years of appropriate coaching/teaching sport in youth programs for athletes of various aptitudesMust have excellent interpersonal, problem solving and communication skillsMust be a team playerMust have excellent leadership and motivational skillsMust be willing to work a flexible schedule, predominately after-school and weekendsMust possess current CPR/FIRST AID certifications, or willingness to obtain within a specified periodNeat in appearance and professional in mannerStrong knowledge of sports coach rules, techniques, and strategiesStrong organizational and time-management abilitiesPassion for sports and athlete developmentWORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:Must be able to lift 50 pounds waist highMust be able to move or lift lightweight equipmentWork is performed in an ice arena environment, which includes cold temperatures and varying noise levelsPosition requires standing and activity for extended periods of time (indoors or outdoors), squatting, stooping, jogging, or bending into awkward positions while performing job functions
