Orange Community Education and Recreation provides outstanding recreation and discovery
opportunities for people of all ages and abilities. The department offers programming in arts, theatre,
sports, preschool discovery, youth recreation, camps, and before/after school activities, as well as
adaptive recreation, adult recreation, senior adult recreation and aquatics. The department is currently
seeking a full-time Coordinator II, to work in our Sports Division under the supervision of the Sports Coordinator.
In this role, the Coordinator II will focus on fostering a vibrant, competitive sports atmosphere,
promoting, growing, and streamlining competitive youth sports with an emphasis on training and
managing volunteer coaches, creating skill development opportunities for athletes, and assisting in the
day-to-day operations of a comprehensive recreation sports catalog that includes youth, teen, and adult
athletes.
The successful candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of career track, demonstrated work in
recreation programming, competitive sports programming, or adult sports programming, with
experience in aquatics management as a plus; facility management and strong supervision experience is
necessary, including indoor spaces and outdoor athletic fields. The ability to work as part of a dedicated
and enthusiastic team of community education and recreation professionals that is dedicated to
creating outstanding experiences is critical. Excellent written and oral communication skills are required
as is certification in CPR/AED/First Aid and Concussion in Sports (NFHS). The successful candidate will
have the ability to work a flexible schedule with nights and weekends required during peak sports
seasons. Excellent customer service skills with an outcome and solutions-oriented mindset is necessary.
