Position Overview

Position Summary:

Provides professional support to ENMU Athletics through internal/external communications with a primary focus with sports information.

Requirements

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operating statistical software such as NCAA LiveStats, StatBroadcast, etc.
  • Ability to write content and post updates regarding athletics events
  • Working knowledge of popular social media platforms to follow brand standard
  • Trains student workers with various tasks like statistics, photography, etc
  • Creates materials (flyers, posters, etc.) to be posted on external sites
  • Writes scripts for public address announcer
  • Works with a team and be able to complete tasks in a quick manner
  • Answers emails from partners/groups/organizations
  • Designs graphics to post on social media
  • Regular and predictable attendance is required
  • Preform other duties as assigned

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in related field with experience working in event management
  • Must possess a valid and current driver's license, with the ability to obtain a valid and current driver's license within the state of New Mexico within 30 days of employment.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations
  • Must be able to handle multiple deadlines and maintain accuracy
  • Must be sensitive to cultural differences within the University and community
  • Must have demonstrated knowledge and interaction with media outlets
  • Fluent in Microsoft Office
  • Must possess strong communications and interpersonal skills

Working Conditions

Physical Demand and Working Conditions:

  • Work is sedentary in nature that at times requires exerting up to 35 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects
  • Normal office, athletics environment, and continually changing sports venues
  • May be required to lift, push, and pull office equipment and materials
  • Visual acuity to read information from computer screens, forms, and other printed materials and information
  • Able to speak (enunciate) clearly in conversation and general communication
  • Hearing ability for verbal communication, conversation, responses via telephone, telephone systems, and face to face interactions
  • Manual dexterity for typing, writing, standing and reaching, flexibility, body movement for bending, crouching, walking, kneeling, and prolonged sitting
  • Must be able to visually and auditory assess situations to insure health and safety
  • Work involves moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises
  • Hours may vary depending on sporting events and needs. May be required to work additional hours or days depending on circumstances

Employee Educational Assistance Plan

Eastern New Mexico University offers a tuition waiver for regular employees and retirees. This program waives the tuition for three courses (up to nine credit hours) per semester. Employees spouses or children may be eligible to use the tuition waiver during any semester that it is not being used by the employee.
