Collaboratively manages day-to-day sports medicine operations for the region, integrating evidence-based practice into clinical, operational, financial, logistical, and leadership processes. Assists Manager with the development and deployment of a comprehensive athletic health care program within assigned region by obtaining clinical outcomes and organizational objectives consistent with the objectives for the Department as set forth by Leadership. Ensures continuous process improvement and redesign in sports medicine services and patient experience in the region. Demonstrates financial stewardship for the region. Develops and grows the staff, establishing sound relationships with physicians, school leadership, and other key stakeholders in assigned region. Serves as a Liaison to the Mission Health Office of Educational Affairs and manages the deployment of educational affiliations, to include coordinating, overseeing, and supervising staff preceptors and students in the region. The Supervisor may provide direct clinical care, under the direction of a Mission Sports Medicine physician, to include evaluation, treatment, prevention, rehabilitation, and therapeutic intervention of emergent, acute, and chronic athletic injuries and illnesses. Responsibilities include serving as a medical liaison to coordinate and facilitate care with the medical team.
Required Education: Master’s degree in Athletic Training, Business, Health Administration or other healthcare related degree
Required License:
Required Experience: Five (5) years of direct patient care, with three (3) years in athletic setting, including high risk, collision sports experience. Demonstrated effective leadership, progressive responsibilities, communication, reliability, and ability to maintain confidentiality. Proficient with injury tracking surveillance system, neurocognitive administration, Office programs, data entry, and internet functions. Demonstrated ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, conceptualize and prioritize objectives and exercise independent judgment based on an understanding of organizational policies and activities. Critical thinking skills and proficiency in organizing resources. Preceptor or teaching experience
Preferred Experience: Supervisory experience. Previous clinical affiliations in college, secondary school, or professional athletics. Extensive acute & chronic injury, post- operative rehabilitation.
