The Wall Street Journal is seeking a sports reporter to write memorable features and break news, across the world of sports, delivering consistent, insightful and punchy stories.
We are looking for a general assignment sports reporter who is excited to find new ways of looking at the richest leagues around—whether it be for the casual fan or the diehard loyalists. The remit will include coverage across the major North American Leagues and the Summer and Winter Olympics, plus opportunities to dig in on other international sports.
The ideal candidate will be someone with a deep knowledge of sports and an intense curiosity about how athletes and teams succeed or fail. The job will also include a steady stream of ambitious features and breaking news. This is an opportunity to work alongside some of the most creative sports journalists in the country and take one of our core strengths to new heights. Candidates should have five or more years experience writing news and feature stories.
