Job Summary

Join the Team

Join Levy's culinary team as an Hourly Sous Chef! This hands-on leadership role supports culinary operations while helping deliver fresh, high-quality food and exceptional experiences for our guests.

The ideal candidate is an experienced culinary professional who enjoys leading by example, developing others, and working in a fast-paced team environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Model Levy's Family Values: Nice, Innovative, Passionate, and Inclusive.
• Support daily culinary production and event execution.
• Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and Levy standards.
• Lead and support cooks and culinary team members during prep and service.
• Assign tasks and help ensure production is completed accurately and on time.
• Monitor food quality, portions, presentation, freshness, and temperatures.
• Ensure proper food handling, labeling, storage, rotation, and waste procedures.
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe kitchen and prep areas.
• Enforce food safety, sanitation, allergen, and workplace safety standards.
• Monitor product levels and communicate purchasing or restocking needs.
• Assist with training, coaching, and developing culinary team members.
• Partner with culinary leadership and other departments to support successful events.
• Assist with inventory, product control, event setup, cleanup, and breakdown.
• Complete additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Previous professional culinary or high-volume kitchen experience required.
• Previous lead, supervisor, or culinary leadership experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, food safety, and sanitation.
• Ability to follow recipes, production sheets, and quality standards.
• Strong leadership, communication, organization, and time-management skills.
• Ability to lead by example and remain calm in a fast-paced environment.
• Dependable, detail-oriented, and team-focused.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and meet the physical demands of the position.
• Flexible availability for events, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Must obtain and maintain required Utah food-safety certification.
