Spring Intern: Congressional Studies

The American Enterprise Institute (AEI) seeks an intern who will assist Senior Fellow Kevin R. Kosar in AEI’s Social, Cultural, and Constitutional Studies department. Dr. Kosar researches the US Congress, particularly how its members respond to changes in procedural rules and electoral incentives.

The intern will assist Dr. Kosar’s work on Congress and elections by reading transcripts of congressional hearings and the Congressional Record; collecting, cleaning, and analyzing data; editing op-eds, reports, and other written material; and providing administrative assistance as needed.

The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated interest in the study of Congress, strong research, writing, and editing abilities, and experience and familiarity with quantitative methods and research, including proficiency in R and/or Stata. Fluency in Python is a plus.

AEI internships offer a unique opportunity for undergraduates, graduate students, and recent graduates to gain experience in research, writing, business, and communications at one of the nation’s leading think tanks. Competitive candidates will generally have a GPA of 3.5 or higher from a top-ranking college or university.
