The Sprinkler Service Technician II is responsible for performing inspection, testing, maintenance (ITM), troubleshooting, and repair of fire sprinkler systems in accordance with applicable codes and standards. This role works independently on service calls, performs system evaluations, provides technical recommendations, and supports the training of junior technicians. The position requires strong technical skills, a high level of self-organization, and a customer-focused approach in fast-paced service environments.
Clearance/Citizen Type: Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements including U.S. citizenship for access to classified information.
(Ability to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret clearance required.)
Responsibilities:Perform inspection, testing, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of fire sprinkler systems
Service system components including sprinklers, valves, piping, standpipes, and related devices
Conduct system evaluations and site surveys to assess system condition and compliance
Identify deficiencies and provide clear, code-compliant repair and upgrade recommendations
Coordinate with service coordinators and customers to ensure timely service delivery
Accurately document inspections, test results, deficiencies, and repairs
Communicate system status, findings, and recommendations professionally to customers
Support and train junior technicians and apprentices through on-the-job guidance
Ensure compliance with NFPA standards, manufacturer requirements, and company procedures
Respond to service calls, including urgent and emergency situations, as required
Work effectively under pressure while managing multiple service calls and priorities
Maintain tools, equipment, and service vehicles in safe and working condition
Follow all company safety policies and promote safe work practices.
Experience as a fire sprinkler service technician or equivalent role
Experience performing inspection, testing, maintenance, and repair of fire sprinkler systems
Knowledge of applicable NFPA standards (including NFPA 13 and NFPA 25)
Ability to pass background checks and meet site-specific access requirements.
Strong technical knowledge of fire sprinkler systems and ITM practices
Ability to work independently and manage service assignments
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
High level of self-organization and time management
Ability to multitask and adapt to changing service priorities
Ability to work under stress and in time-sensitive environments
Strong customer service and communication skills
Attention to detail with a focus on documentation and compliance
Ability to support and train junior technicians
Certifications:
Experience servicing standpipes and fire pumps (preferred)
Experience coordinating AHJ inspections and deficiency corrections
Manufacturer training or certifications
Field-based role with work performed at customer sites
May require travel, on-call rotation, flexible hours, and emergency response
Work involves ladders, confined spaces, lifting, and exposure to construction and industrial environments.
