Fire Sprinkler Technician Job Description
We are currently seeking a skilled and reliable Fire Sprinkler Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have comprehensive experience in the installation, inspection, maintenance, and repair of various fire suppression systems.
Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine inspections, testing, and maintenance of fire sprinkler systems in commercial, industrial, and residential properties in accordance with NFPA standards and local codes.
  • Install and repair wet-pipe and dry-pipe fire suppression systems.
  • Conduct testing and maintenance of backflow prevention devices, ensuring compliance and proper function.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain system components including valves, alarms, hydrants, and piping.
  • Document all work performed accurately and thoroughly, including inspection reports, service orders, and repair recommendations.
  • Communicate effectively with clients to explain system issues, repair options, and maintenance schedules.
  • Maintain an organized service vehicle and accurate inventory of parts and tools.
  • Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and company policies.
Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a Fire Sprinkler Technician, demonstrating expertise in wet and dry systems.
  • Strong understanding of NFPA 13, 25, and other relevant fire and building codes [1].
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings.
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
Additional Desired Skills (A Plus):
  • Experience with the inspection, maintenance, and repair of fire pumps.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., NICET certification in Fire Protection Engineering Technology or a Backflow Prevention Assembly Tester certification) [1, 2].
  • Experience with special hazard systems (e.g., pre-action, deluge, foam).
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and materials.
  • Comfortable working at heights, in confined spaces, and in various weather conditions.
  • Capability to climb ladders and utilize mechanical lifts safely.
