    Job Description Summary

    The purpose of this role is to assist and mentor other SQE team members to assure compliance with Dauch Supplier Quality Engineering Policies and Procedures and to manage and develop their assigned suppliers.

    Job Description:

    • Ensure APQP/PPAP are timely completed for new programs launch.
    • Monitor supplier performance while working with the team to meet supplier Quality metrics and objectives. 
    • Assist suppliers in problem solving effectiveness including root cause analysis through implementation of corrective actions and Read Across.
    • Ensure adherence to Supplier Launch Performance Manual for new programs through completing of APQP (Advanced Part Quality Planning) phases that lead to flawless Quality (PPAP – Production Part Approval Process), Capacity Planning and Verification.
    • Conduct Supplier’s Manufacturing Site Assessments to support sourcing through appropriate forums.
    • Support Dauch Plant on the issues related to suppliers.
    • Assist Dauch plant’s efforts to bring to closure aging supplier complaints from suppliers needing assistance.
    • Expected to identify risks / potential failure modes in supplier processes and develop risk mitigation plans.
    • Verify supplier Capacity Analysis Reports. Identify the constraint and resolve it.
    • Ability to implement Supplier Crisis Management to resolve any issues with quality or quantity at the supplier facility.
    • Work with suppliers to develop continuous improvement plans and metrics to monitor performance and continuously improve quality and process and achieve cost reduction targets.
    • Monitor supplier complaints and submit root cause and corrective actions to present in the weekly Regional Quality Reviews.
    • Drive robust problem solving process for Supplier Quality issues related to, 0Km issues, Stop Shipment/build, Field Service Actions, Read Across Best Practices into Comodity Control Plans.
    • Travel when required to assist troubled suppliers with quality or capacity issues.
    • Ensure continuous improvements from assigned suppliers with PRR reduction and SQ4 audit score increases.
    • Support on-site Supplier’s Process capacity issues resolution – ensure a production plan exists to meet requirements and manage “date to green” plan. 
    • Plan & execute Supplier assessments. Follow up on actions from red/yellow path to green on critical suppliers.
    • Maintain IATF16949 2nd party auditor certification through AIAG training.
    • Ensure supply base has all certifications up to date and uploaded into the Dauch systems including IATF16949, CQI’s, Annual Audits etc..
    • Lead cross-functional team during Technical reviews and respective deliverable sign off.
    • Lead supplier APQP kick-off meetings and supplier design reviews.
    • Verify on-site at suppliers during PPAP approval process including verification of documentation and capacity run at rates.
    • Support Implementation of VAVE activities to achieve cost reduction targets.
    • Active participation on Matched Set Category Teams.
    • Participate, as needed, on Dauch cross functional Teams and effectively interact with other technical departments and Assembly Plants personnel to find creative solutions to constraints.
    • Complete SQE Site Engineer training driving compliance to all organizational and corporate training requirements.
    • Problem Solving Skills including 8D, 5Y, Six Sigma.

    Required Skills and Education

    • Bachelor's degree - Science/Engineering/Electrical Engineering is desirable.
    • Knowledge of Global Known Quality tools, policies and systems.
    • Knowledge of manufacturing process(es).
    • Understands interpretation and application of global quality standards (ISO-9001 & IATF-19649, and VDA 6.3).
    • ISO-9000/IATF16949 2nd or 3rd party Auditor certification.
    • VDA 6.3 certified auditor is desired.
    • 6 Sigma Black Belt is desired.
