SQL Application / Admin Support


Lighthouse Technology Services is partnering with our client to fill their SQL Application / Admin Support Engineer position! This is a 12 month + contract and will be hybrid in Buffalo, NY. This role will be a W2 employee of Lighthouse Technology Services. No C2C or subcontracting arrangements will be considered.


What You'll Be Doing:

  • Lead production support efforts and user troubleshooting initiatives, providing high-energy technical assistance through screen shares, issue resolution, and rapid response to system incidents
  • Design and develop SQL queries, data extracts, and database modifications to support data warehouse enhancements and business intelligence requirements
  • Administer and maintain applications across both Linux and Windows server environments, managing patches, version updates, and system configurations
  • Support CICD pipelines using GitLab, Artifactory, and Ansible to facilitate monthly releases and system deployments
  • Coordinate with Engineers and Business Analysts on application changes, system modifications, and release planning activities
  • Manage day-to-day system administration tasks including Active Directory user management, access resolution, and .NET version compliance
  • Execute off-hour implementations and participate in on-call rotation to ensure continuous system availability
  • Write and maintain PowerShell and Bash/shell scripts to automate processes and enhance operational efficiency
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze complex system interrelationships and implement technically sound solutions
  • Document technical specifications, test plans, and system changes while mentoring less experienced team members


What You'll Need to Have:

  • 5+ years of systems analysis and application development experience with strong SQL development capabilities
  • Proven expertise in PowerShell and Linux shell scripting for automation and system management
  • Solid experience with Linux and Windows server administration, including Active Directory management
  • Demonstrated ability in production support environments with a track record of rapid issue resolution and user support
  • Strong understanding of complete SDLC administration and CICD tooling (GitLab, Artifactory, Ansible)
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and proficiency using Jira and Confluence for project tracking
  • High-energy work style with ability to multitask across multiple complex projects simultaneously
  • Banking or financial services industry experience strongly preferred
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills with ability to present to technical and non-technical audiences


Pay Range: $50-62/hr
