SQL Database Administrator (DBA)

We are seeking an experienced SQL Database Administrator (DBA) to support the administration, maintenance, availability, performance, and troubleshooting of enterprise database environments. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience across SQL Server, Oracle, and other relational database technologies and be comfortable working independently as well as with cross-functional technical teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer and support Microsoft SQL Server databases, including installation, configuration, monitoring, performance tuning, backup, recovery, and maintenance.

• Configure and support SQL Server Clustering and High Availability environments.

• Develop and maintain SQL scripts for database administration, monitoring, troubleshooting, and automation.

• Administer and support Oracle databases, including SQL and PL/SQL.

• Work with additional database technologies including PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB, and Microsoft Access.

• Support Oracle Grid Infrastructure and Oracle RMAN backup and recovery processes.

• Create, configure, and manage standalone SQL Server and Oracle databases.

• Perform database and application-related troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and issue triage.

• Perform routine server maintenance, database software installation, upgrades, and patching.

• Design, implement, maintain, and test High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions.

• Monitor database health, availability, capacity, and performance and proactively address potential issues.

• Maintain database security, access controls, backups, recovery procedures, and operational documentation.

• Coordinate with infrastructure, application, development, security, and operations teams to resolve database-related issues.

• Participate in planned maintenance activities and production support as required.

Required Skills

• Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server database administration.

• Experience with SQL Server Clustering and SQL scripting.

• Working knowledge of Oracle Database and PL/SQL.

• Experience with Oracle Grid Infrastructure and Oracle RMAN.

• Familiarity with PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB, and MS Access.

• Strong understanding of database backup, recovery, HA, and DR concepts.

• Experience performing database and server software installation, configuration, upgrades, and patching.

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across technical teams.

• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple technical issues simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting enterprise or production database environments.

• Knowledge of database performance monitoring and tuning.

• Experience working in environments with multiple database platforms.

• Familiarity with database security, auditing, automation, and operational best practices.
