Job Overview The Senior Accountant - Corporate Accounting is responsible for overseeing fixed asset accounting and ensuring compliance with all related processes, controls, and accounting policies. This role serves as the subject matter expert for fixed assets across the organization, ensuring accuracy in capitalization, depreciation, disposals, and reporting.

In addition, this position supports key transactional accounting activities, including daily and weekly cash postings, intercompany journal entries, expense allocations, and other recurring accounting functions. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting knowledge, a controls-focused mindset, and the ability to operate effectively in a dynamic, cross-functional environment.

Key Job Responsibilities

Fixed Asset Accounting & Compliance • Oversee all aspects of fixed asset accounting, including capitalization, depreciation, disposals, transfers, and impairments. • Maintain and reconcile the fixed asset subledger to the general ledger on a monthly basis. • Ensure compliance with company accounting policies and applicable GAAP/IFRS standards related to fixed assets. • Monitor and enforce adherence to capitalization thresholds and asset classification policies. • Develop and maintain documentation of processes, controls, and procedures related to fixed assets. • Identify opportunities to enhance automation, standardization, and process efficiency.

Controls & Policy Oversight • Ensure effective internal controls over fixed asset processes and related journal entries. • Support internal and external audit requests, including preparation of documentation and walkthroughs. • Proactively identify control gaps and implement corrective actions as needed. • Partner with business units to promote policy compliance and proper accounting treatment.

Transactional Accounting Support • Perform or review daily and weekly cash postings and related reconciliations. • Prepare and post intercompany journal entries and support intercompany reconciliation processes. • Manage expense allocation entries and related analysis. • Assist with other recurring and ad hoc journal entries as needed.

Cross-Functional Collaboration • Partner with FP&A, Operations, Treasury, and other departments to ensure proper accounting treatment of capital expenditures and transactions. • Provide accounting guidance to business stakeholders on asset-related matters. • Support special projects and continuous improvement initiatives within Corporate Accounting.

Qualifications

Requirements

• Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance. • CPA or CPA candidate. • 3 years of progressive accounting experience, public accounting, and/or corporate accounting. • Strong knowledge of fixed asset accounting and depreciation methodologies. • Experience with general ledger reconciliations and month-end close processes. • Understanding of internal controls and policy compliance. • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Preferred

• Experience in a multi-entity environment. • Experience working with ERP systems, SAP experience preferred. • Experience supporting audits and compliance activities.

Additional Information

Hiring Range At Komatsu, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. This role pays $95,700.00. The actual offer will consider a wide range of factors, including experience and location.
