Sr. Accountant, Fixed Assets

The Senior Accountant working within our Fixed Assets team will be responsible for the end-to-end management and accounting of infrastructure assets-ranging from data centers to state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities-supporting the development and deployment of next-generation products, including Robotaxi and Optimus. This role encompasses the full asset lifecycle, from acquisition and accurate tracking, through depreciation and valuation, to proper disposal and reporting, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and financial integrity across all infrastructure investments.

• Reviews asset requests and Capex POs to ensure proper account coding and compliance with capitalization policy
• Serves as cross-functional liaison for fixed asset transactions, Asset owners, & PO requesters. Also, performs asset approvals, capitalization, transfers, and disposals
• Analyzes AUC (CIP) assets/projects, capitalize and place assets in service when projects are complete. Analyze aging AUC assets and prepare financial metrics on AUC assets for monthly cycle review
• Prepares journal entries, account analysis and reporting, including all infra-asset schedules for interim and EOQ presentations
• Works closely with internal departments (i.e. production, operational teams, FP&A, and tax) and support Annual Confirmation
• Work with each FA region to obtain potential manual process and convert the process to automation and reduce manual work within Infra Accounting team
• Acts as primary point of contact and system administrator for the Tesla Infra Accounting system
• Degree in Accounting, or equivalent experience
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel and must have solid written and verbal communication skills
• Proven ability to work effectively with others and build partnerships and work in a collaborative environment
• Experience and strong understanding of internal controls
• Maintain flexibility in a fast-paced environment, and continuously evolving to meet changing business needs
• Quick learner and problem solver when faced with new issues or challenges
• Passion for driving and delivering results and delivering constructive change
