Sr Accountant

PositionSummary This position performs a wide variety of accounting duties such as participating in the month-end close of the general ledger, submitting reports to external parties and preparing various account analyses. The position requires the ability to problem solve and work both independently and in a group. Primary Position Responsibilities Prepare and enter various journal entries for assigned accounts, ensuring all activity is recorded Perform various account analyses and reconciliations on a monthly basis, including intercompany transactions, accruals and specialty areas of accounting including fund accounting and grants management, as applicable. Prepare financial reports in compliance with external reporting requirements Download monthly and quarterly bank statements for bank reconciliations and journal entries Performs detailed analyses of assigned cost centers and compares budget to actual and prior periods Perform ad hoc analyses to support management inquiries for revenue and expenses as needed Assists with financial reporting by gathering and reporting statistical information Assist with year-end audit by assembling supporting documents and providing prepared schedules. Qualifications Minimum Education: Required: Bachelors in Accounting, Finance or related field. Preferred: Minimum Years of Experience (Amount, Type and Variation): Required: Three to five years of directly related professional prior experience required Preferred: Experience in healthcare or non-profit finance preferred Two to three years accounting experience in a certified public accounting firm License, Registry or Certification: Required: Preferred: CPA Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities: Required: Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including lookups and pivot tables Detailed knowledge of accounting principles Critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills, including attention to detail and ability to deliver high quality work Preferred: Advanced Microsoft Office Hunterdon Health is committed to providing a competitive benefit package to our employees.
