Job Title: Sr Accountant

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Sr Accountant to support the company's financial accounting and reporting functions. This role will be responsible for ownership of key accounting processes including fixed assets accounting, inventory accounting, month-end close activities, financial reporting, and account reconciliations. The Sr Accountant will play a critical role in ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with IFRS and company policies.

In addition to core accounting responsibilities, this individual will serve as a key contributor to continuous process improvement initiatives, ERP system enhancements, automation projects, and AI integration efforts to drive efficiency, strengthen internal controls, and support business growth. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with strong analytical skills, a continuous improvement mindset, and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally across the organization.

ResponsibilitiesFinancial Accounting & Reporting


+ Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting in accordance with IFRS standards.


+ Perform month-end and year-end close activities, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and adherence to closing timelines.


+ Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and supporting schedules.


+ Analyze financial results and investigate variances to support management reporting and decision-making.


+ Support internal and external audit activities by preparing required schedules and documentation.


+ Ensure compliance with company accounting policies, IFRS standards, and internal control requirements.


Inventory & Cost Accounting


+ Maintain and analyze inventory accounting records and transactions.


+ Monitor inventory valuations and ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.


+ Reconcile inventory accounts and investigate discrepancies between physical and system inventories.


+ Partner with operations and supply chain teams to support cycle counts and physical inventory observations.


+ Analyze manufacturing and inventory-related costs, including materials, labor, and overhead allocations.


+ Assist with the development and enhancement of inventory controls and reporting processes.


Fixed Assets Accounting


+ Manage the fixed asset lifecycle, including asset capitalization, depreciation, transfers, impairments, and disposals.


+ Maintain the fixed asset register and ensure accuracy of supporting records.


+ Review capital expenditures to ensure proper accounting treatment.


+ Prepare fixed asset reconciliations and reporting schedules for management and auditors.


Process Improvement, Systems & Automation


+ Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve operational efficiency.


+ Participate in ERP implementations, upgrades, and system optimization initiatives.


+ Support the development and implementation of automation solutions, reporting tools, and AI-driven accounting processes.


+ Collaborate with finance, IT, and business stakeholders to enhance data integrity and reporting capabilities.


+ Document and improve accounting procedures and internal controls to support scalability and continuous improvement.


Business Partnership & Special Projects


+ Support annual budgeting and forecasting activities.


+ Partner with cross-functional teams to resolve accounting issues and improve financial processes.


+ Assist with ad hoc financial analyses, reporting requests, and strategic projects.


+ Serve as a resource to the accounting team on complex transactions and accounting matters.


QualificationsRequired


+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.


+ 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within manufacturing or inventory-intensive environments.


+ Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, financial reporting, month-end close, and account reconciliations.


+ Experience with inventory accounting and fixed assets accounting.


+ Ability to analyze financial data, identify trends, and explain variances.


+ Experience working within ERP systems (SAP preferred).


+ Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.


+ Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.


Preferred


+ CPA designation or CPA-track candidate preferred.


+ Experience supporting ERP implementations, upgrades, or process transformation initiatives.


+ Knowledge of Power BI, data analytics, or automation tools.


+ Exposure to AI technologies and process automation within finance and accounting functions.


+ Project management experience and ability to lead cross-functional initiatives.


Work Environment

This position is fully in-office, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The Sr Accountant reports directly to the Accounting Manager and collaborates closely with accounting, operations, supply chain, and finance leadership teams. This role offers significant exposure to process improvement initiatives, systems enhancements, and the organization's digital transformation strategy.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $37.50 - $43.50/hr.
