Job Description:
The Senior Accountant - Regulatory is responsible for overseeing the bank reconciliation function and ensuring the accuracy, timeliness, and compliance of all cash-related financial activities. This role blends advanced accounting expertise with leadership responsibilities, including oversight of reconciliation activities across multiple locations, approval of reconciliations, process improvement initiatives, and support of the monthly close.
- This is a hybrid role (2 days in the office) so must be located near Minnetonka, MN
In this role, you will:
- Oversee and monitor the timely completion of bank reconciliations from multiple locations through management of a reconciliation tracking log
- Prepare and maintain a cash lead schedule for the CFO
- Serve as the primary point of contact for reconciliation-related questions, providing training and guidance to reconciliation staff in field locations
- Review and approve bank reconciliations, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and adherence to internal controls
- Identify, research, and resolve discrepancies between bank activity and the general ledger
- Prepare and post journal entries to resolve reconciliation issues as needed
- Perform monthly reconciliations for miscellaneous cash general ledger accounts not tied to a specific bank account
- Support monthly and annual close processes, including the timely and accurate preparation of quarterly reports
- Evaluate existing processes and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and control
- Partner with IT, Treasury, and cross-functional teams to streamline workflows and resolve system or process issues
- Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with company policies, GAAP, and audit standards
- Assist with internal and external audits by providing required documentation, analysis, and support
Skills and Experience required to be successful:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field required
- 4-7 years of accounting experience, with a strong focus on bank reconciliations
- Solid understanding of GAAP and cash accounting principles
- Proficiency with accounting systems (Workday Finance preferred, but not required)
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities
- Ability to perform effectively in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment
- Experience with reconciliation automation tools and ERP integrations is a plus

The estimated pay range stated represents the typical pay range for this position or similarly employed employees or employees performing substantially similar work. Position's Pay Range:
$85,000 - $90,000
